Sojourn to Transformation

Issues of Death
Death is odd. Mainly in the fact that someone ceases to exist on this earth, but continues to exist in the spirit. I'm thinking about how truth will be so easy to comprehend with out the confines of our mind and flesh.

Today we have calling hours at the funeral home, and the funeral tomorrow.

Mighty God would your presence rest upon us today as we honor Papa. I pray that you would lead us to forgiveness, restoration and peace that passes understanding. I ask that you be glorified. That your name would go forth in power and authority. Save souls as You reveal Yourself. Use me to speak words of peace in the flesh and words of war in the spirit. This is my prayer.

i totally know what you mean by those first few lines. especially just losing my grandma a few weeks ago. may He give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation, counsel and might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord during this time. (Isaiah 11) speaking to your heart of deep mysteries and growing you in understanding of resurrection life, even in the midst of death.

So be it, Lord, in Jesus' name.

I realize the finiteness of my mind whenever I try to think about the concept of forever. It makes my brain hurt. I am remembering my dad's final days etc. I looked at him in the casket and realized it was only his outward "shell" or whatever, but it sure is a sobering thing to think that his time on earth was over. I want to live everyday like it was my last. Life is so precious.

Mandy, I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your Papa. It's so very difficult to lose the physical manifestation of people we love, and yet it's such a good reminder to re-evaluate how we live. Bless you and your family.

    Hi Mandy,
I hope you are finding some time to get some rest. I tried commenting on the "update" post but something was wrong with the link. Hope you have a good week.
